Conference forms are due back by Monday, November 13th
No School Friday, November 10th
We are in need of following donations: paper towels, thin expo markers and hand soap
Turkey Toss: Monday November 20th...notice is coming home today
Thanksgiving week: Monday (2hr delay), Tuesday (No school), Wednesday (1/2 day), Thursday & Friday (No School)
Math: We are wrapping up Unit 2 in Math. I am going to be giving the kids their end of unit assessment on Thursday. Number stories are our main focus.
Reading: We have spent the past few weeks using reading strategies while reading. I have also introduced the kids to Scholastic News. It is a non-fiction magazine that teaches the kids about current events. We also practice finding non-fiction text features while reading. We will be starting to read a realistic fiction book in our literature circles this week.
Writing: We are ready to start writing our personal narratives. The kids carefully chose a topic that they are invested in writing about. Stay tuned for some fun stories! We have also been working on common and proper nouns.
We are having fun in science and this week we will be adventuring outside for a fossil dig. In Social Studies we are exploring the land of Massachusetts.
